Introduction

Tailor On Tap is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented individual to join our corporate headquarters as a Head of Finance/Corporate controller. The individual must come from an Accounting background, and will not only provide direct support to all Teams at Tailor On Tap but will have the opportunity to join a company with newly acquired equity financing that is fast growing with a strong company culture.

Tailor on Tap, a custom clothing technology start-up based in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Head of Finance/Corporate Controller as part of its senior management team. This role will be pivotal in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives. This individual must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader since all relative departments of the organization will be under their command.

The goal is to protect the company’s revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.


What does the Chief Revenue Officer do?

You will make an impact by supporting the below functions. The role at its core is an Accounting position which makes up the most important part of the daily and monthly deliverables. From here the true value add comes through skills on FP&A, analytical decision making, and even corporate finance tasks. In addition to a long history of expertise in accounting, we aim for someone that is not only the core executor on the monthly close, but equally helpful with Board of Directors presentations, meetings with investors, all proformas, and ad hoc financial analysis.

  • Financial Reporting

    • Responsible for the month end closing process and facilitate an accurate and timely closing

    • Submit monthly reporting package to investors, Board of Directors, and Chief Executive Officer.

    • Communicate and manage showroom P&L’s

    • Communicate on a frequent basis with Tailor On Tap’s CEO, Board, and Investors

  • Manage Cash Flow

    • Report the financial performance of the company through monthly and weekly KPI’s

    • Month Spend: Analyze Tailor On Tap’s spend, isolating cost drivers and making recommendations on all aspects and revenue streams of the business.

    • AP Management: manage accounts payable, ensuring appropriate, and efficient use of funds

    • AR Management: Work closely with sales force to ensure collection on outstanding customer payments.

  • Operating Budgets

    • Establish and responsible for budgets on department spend, based upon pro forma financials and equity financing received to drive execution based upon targets.

    • Drive company to execute on key Finance-related policies including showroom POS SOPs, alterations/refunds, customer collections, and operating expense management.

  • Administrative/compliance

    • Serve as key contact for yearly audit

    • Manage annual corporate tax filings, 1099 filings, and state/national compliance

  • FP&A

    • Comfortable and proficient in proforma modeling and budget management

    • Proficient in corporate finance basics- valuation, net present value, opportunity cost of capital

    • Comfortable providing and executing slides and appendices for Board of Directors and Investors

  • Evaluate Opportunity for scale and growth and consider ways to drive efficiency and automation.

  • Drive the company’s financial planning by analyzing its performance and risk.

  • Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments.

  • Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks.

  • Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure.

  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations.

  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations.

  • Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, financial analysts, treasurers etc.).

  • Manage vendor relationships.

  • Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system.

  • Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies.


What does it take to be the Chief Revenue Officer?

The Ideal Candidate: As a growing professional, challenge and opportunity excites you while having the following:

  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus.

  • CPA strongly preferred, but not required

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience

  • Strength in using Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Experience in month-end closing procedures with multiple entities under one parent company

  • Knowledge or background in QuickBooks

  • Detail Oriented and Analytical mindset

  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment that is fast moving and the willingness to “wear many hats”

  • Ability to be a self-starter and make independent decisions and recommendations

  • Experience in Direct to consumer and B2B models (specifically manufactured consumer goods)

  • Strong PowerPoint skills for Board of Director and Investor Presentations

  • Strong supply chain experience

  • Experience with high transaction count business models

  • Corporate Finance Experience preferred, but not required

  • In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.

  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.

  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and people skills.

  • Willingness to travel

  • Awareness and availability to work outside of normal hours to meet with investors and vendors located overseas.
