Introduction
Tailor on Tap is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to oversee our growing organization’s on-going operations and procedures. The role will be key to ensure the efficiency of the company and is a key member of the senior management team.
Furthermore, this individual will be responsible for leading the financial operations and strategy at Tailor On Tap and be responsible for leading our team into new market entry, as well as ongoing financial compliance consistent with our expansion efforts.
The individual must come from a Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or business development background and will not only provide direct support to all teams at Tailor On Tap but will have the opportunity to join a young and fast growing company with newly acquired funding.
What does the Chief Operating Officer do?
Design and implement business strategies consistent with pre-set milestones along with plans and procedures
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
Work with Chief Executive Officer to establish policies that promote the company’s vision, strategy, and culture
Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of other executives including Information Technology, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Organizational Development
Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics while also recommending ways to increase efficiency across all sales channels from E-Commerce to retail “brick and mortar” locations
Write and submit reports to the CEO, equity investors, and Board of Directors in all matters of importance
Assist CEO in further fundraising ventures and recommend/pursue opportunities that arise without CEO’s knowledge
Participate in all expansion activities such as investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc
Manage relationships with partners/vendors while being willing and able to negotiate on certain points such pricing, turnaround time, etc that will increase the effectiveness of our Supply Chain
Drive financial strategy around corporate structure while being accountable for reporting
Analyzing and communicating the financial results and key performance indicators of the company's subsidiaries to key stakeholders including local directors and corporate senior management
Ensuring compliance aspects were met including external reporting, financial audits, corporate tax compliance and other governance activities
Partnering closely with IT teams and developers to design, implement and manage systems that support the financial reporting and analysis needs of the company
What does it take to be the Chief Operating Officer?
Strong understanding of retail industry is strongly preferred
Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role
Understanding of all business functions such as Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, etc
Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
Experience in fundraising for a start up is a plus
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Working knowledge of Information Technology. business infrastructure, and MS Office
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Aptitude in decision making and problem solving
BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field: MSc, MBA, or CPA certification is a plus.
Ability and willingness to “wear many hats” while working in a fast moving startup environment
